Hyundai Tucson: Engine Control System / Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (FTPS)

- Description Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (FTPS) is a component of the evaporative emission control system and is installed on the fuel tank, the fuel pump, or the canister. It checks the purge control solenoid valve operation and detects a leakage of the system.

- Inspection

1.In the engine control system, failure can be quickly diagnosed by using the diagnosis tool.

(1)Self diagnosis : Checking failure and code number (DTC).

(2)Current data : Checking the system input/output data state.

(3)Actuation test : Checking the system operation condition.

(4)Additional function : Controlling other features including system option setting and zero point adjustment.

Component Inspection

1.Measure the FTPS output voltage using the diagnostic tool.

Specification : Refer to "Specification"

- Removal

1.Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery (-) terminal.

2.Remove the rear seat assembly.(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Rear Seat Assembly")

3.Remove the fuel pump service cover (A) after loosening the screw.

4.Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector (A).

5.Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor (B) after releasing the hooks vertically.

- Installation

   

• Install the component with the specified torques.

• Insert the sensor in the installation hole and be careful not to damage when installation.

1.Install in the reverse order of removal.
